The Self Clean+ feature on the WF42H5200AW is a cycle that uses hot water and special spin motion to clean and sanitize the drum and gaskets. Thanks for your interest, Ms. Samsung

But what I have done in the past to my previous front load is leave the door open so its airs out and once a week I wipe it down with clorex wipes. Hope that helps.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have only had the washer for about a month.. used the self clean option once and it does not use heat or a fan it seems to be just a long wash cycle, I would recommend doing it at night.

I use a magnet to prevent the door from closing completely when not in use, and the interior dries completely in about 12 hours. Hopefully the musty smell will never develop.
