FIrst of all, it is Samsung, not Samson. This may be important when following the directions below. Use the instruction booklet you should have received from Cablevision when you got your Optimum remote. It will give you instructions for programming your remote plus the code(s) you would need for a Samsung TV. If you do not have this booklet, call Cablevision and ask them for help.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Unfortunately Samsung has come up with a botton under the front panel that has to be manually shut off or turned off by the tv remote. Even after syncing your remote to tv, it will not shut off tv and cable box at the same time. The cable remote will work all other functions.

The remote that comes with it can control the features on the TV; we can't speak if other devices will have all the codes available on the Samsung model.
