QuestionI'm trying to connect Logitech speakers to this tv using an RCA Y cable adaptor, but cannot get sound to come out of the speakers. I've changed the tv audio settings to "external speakers" but nothing works. Any idea what's wrong?

- Answer I don't think that TV has an analog audio out. I does have a optical digital out. You would need to purchase a Digital to analog converter (DAC) and turn the sound mode from Dolby digital to PCM. A cheap sound bar with optical in should also work.

- Answer No, it is not a smart tv (although it can basically function like a smart tv with the Samsung blu-ray player installed as an accessory - about $60 at Best Buy. The blu-ray player I added has 250 apps pre-installed). The answer to the first part of your question is complicated and probably best answered by a professional. There are several web sites that explain Samsung's CMR vs refresh rate (some sites even have a conversion table). I've been enjoying this tv for a few weeks now, and I think the hd picture is great! I use the tv for watching live tv and on demand content. I do not use the tv for gaming or with an xbox so I do not know how it would perform under those conditions. Hope this helps!

- Answer No. Get a streaming device to plug into one of the HDMI ports. Honestly, we have a smart TV and always do better using a streaming device on a dumb TV

- Answer Congratulations, the sound is an integral part of your watching experience. My best guess to your question would be either the sound was already on when you turned on your TV, or someone accidently hit volume up. You can fix this by hitting Volume Down on your controller, or just watching things on your TV from the silent movie era.

- Answer FOR FUTURE REFERENCE: Always Call Samsung customer service immediately for help - you might have a lemon. They are most helpful and will give you step by step instructions. Then, if necessary, I would return the product to the store for exchange or refund as soon as possible. Also,you usually have a one year manufacturer repair warranty on most of major purchases..Hope this helps you with your future purchases. Remember that speed is always of essence. Good luck. PS. I have had this TV and many other Samsung products for over four years of daily use and I love it.

QuestionAfter initial setup (cable/coax) I get sound for a few seconds then silence and just an ugly green static pattern on the screen. Is this an HD issue with my cable box or does it seem faulty? Also couldn't get menu or switch source to try external DVD.
