Hi Wildbill, the UN40KU6300FXZA is the 2016 series, and the UN40MU6300FXZA is the 2017 series. ^Rosi
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This tv 40mu6300 HDR does not work it makes the picture really dim and washed out. Last year's modal ku6300 actually makes the picture alot brighter and more real looking and adds more detail. Atleast on ps4 with hdr on with the right settings deep color on and rgb full and on the tv hdmi black level low the normal or auto seting washes out pic also color to 80 .The mu6300 does none of this.I tried every setting. Well I did get more color out of hdr with the Gama set to bt somthing instead of the St somthing but that only worked on game mode and every time you change inputs it would go back to st washed oUT and it was Dark and had no brightness like ku6300. I had to return do to that and no 4k on netflix or youtube or any other built in app I tried. Also note that the hdmi uhd color has to be on and it only works on hdmi 1 on ku6300 and it does supposedly work all 3 hdmi on mu6300 but like I said it did not for me. Also this mu 6300 does not show a 4k picture in netflix or youtube there is a way to check on both info on under 123 button remote on netflix and stats button youtube. Ku6300/ku6290 does 4k on both no prob. Mu6300 struggles to do 1080 on netflix. Also to note HDR is washed out on netflix on ku6300 but as mentiond not ps4.have seen lots of complaints of netflix hdr not working on lots of brands of tvs though so must be netflix. So new 2017 tv worse then last years. One bright side I noticed on mu6300 viewing angle seemend a bit better. But ku6300 still is really good and does not was out as bad as vizio or sharp or sony tvs at angle. Also mu6300 does have voice control feature and Bluetooth speakers or headset can be hooked to it. Not sure if ku6300 has this I think it has Bluetooth though. I had the ku 6290 which is same tv as ku6300 but lacks blue tooth. Now this becouse RRATINGS site.check them for the rating of ku6300 and they go over in detail the pic etc.
