Reset everything I just went through something similar where the sound bar showed TV ARC and then S Mute. We couldn’t get the sound bar to work at all anymore and after being on a support call for a couple of hours we were told the bar is defective. But it wasn’t! Long story short, on another call to Samsung we figured that some setting in the TV got corrupted. So they did a manufacturers reset on the TV and a reset on the soundbar with all the HDMI cables unplugged. (To reset the soundbar turn it off and press and hold mute button on the soundbar remote until it turns back on). Then We plugged in the soundbar first into the HDMI ARC input of the TV and it worked! Then we plugged in one device (like cable box) at a time into the TV and set it up and made sure the soundbar still works each time. We will never know why it got corrupted in the first place. But this worked. BTW the S Mute is supposed to mean the soundbar is not plugged into the right HDMI input but it was. That’s how we knew the TV was at fault. It didn’t recognize it.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It's a setting within your harmony remote, can take some playing around with to get certain activities to activate certain commands on one remote button, but patience and experimentation got ours all sorted. I'd be happy to help you with any specific issues. Cheers, Todd
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The sign ‘S mute’ appeared on my samsung sound bar while the sound bar was updating the firmwire. I tried to figure out what went wrong until I found out that the firmwire was being updated. Once the update was completed, The sound bar came back to its normal operation and sound was flowing from TV to the sound bar. to check whether your sound bar is updating its firmwire you may need to install ‘smartthings’ app in your mobile from Samsung for a Samsung supported sound bar. Add your soundbar to the app and check three dots for updates.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.S mute is the sound muted or no sound. HDMI needs to be on the right input. HDMI 1 is for the cable box. When you put the Apple TV on, it is another input connection which is another sound that is provided. HDMI has video and stereo sound wires built in together. Apple TV is like application or app and that is depending on how you are running it ( sub, card, or even built into the tv software). So really need more info on that. Because Apple TV is I-tunes like Netflix. You could have a adapter, hard drive, and other ways for configurations. You can even do it off of you iPhone.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This is an easy fix. 1. Plug a hdmi lead into the tv hdmi Arc socket on the back of your tv. 2. Turn on the soundbar and use tv screen arrow button pictured below on the soundbar remote to change to arc on the soundbar. 3. Go into the settings menu on your tv. Then go to Sound options and scroll down th sound output and set it to ARC. Thats it.
