• Hi Dog, You will need internet access to access the features that are on Smart Hub. However, if you connect to your cable service via cable, then you will not need the internet to access your cable service. ~Samsung Advisor

• It goes through your internet. The whole idea of streaming is to not have to pay for "cable" tv.
