“Option for PCM optical audio output? The optical input on the Insignia sound bar I want to get says that the audio output on the TV must be set to PCM format. Does this TV have that option?”

• Yes, most High definition television's are equipped with an optical output for sound. just remember it is only for sound not video but you will be impressed with the sound quality you get out of the optical cable because with the USB cables they are built to transfer sound and high definition video signals so the sound quality is not quite the same because it concentrate more on the high definition video not as much on the sound. whereas the optical cables Only deal with the digital sound alone.

• I just went to the TV's Menu to look for you. The default setting under Sound --> Additional Settings is PCM. So the answer to your question is YES.
