I have mine placed above the TV. The audio quality is the same if not better. To create Atmos Effect sound waves travel up then back down to complete the effect. Shorter the distance faster the effect.

Please try again later.Most sound bars can be mounted above or below the tv, although positioning this atmos sound bar so that all the sounds hit you right (particularly those being bounced off the ceiling) might present a little bit more challenge with a vaulted ceiling. But if your ceiling is flat and you're ok with the look of your sound bar over your tv, you should be good to go
