“Stupid Question About Convection Feature I just got this range yesterday. You would think I'm a man as I don't want to read the directions. Do I have to turn on the convection feature or is it automatic? If I use the convection feature do I have to adjust the cooking time or temperature? Thank you.”

Hi NAM, The convection fan in the NX58H5600SS operates automatically during pre-heat, Convection Bake and Convection Roast modes. When using Convection Bake, the temperature is automatically reduced by 25°F. This auto conversion feature can be turned off by following the instructions on page 56 of the User Manual. Since items usually cook faster when using Convection, it's a good idea to reduce cooking times, as well, or at least check for done-ness about 75-80% of the way through the cooking time. Please try again later.There are four possible options for cooking: convection bake, convection roast, and broil. the convection settings have a small symbol that looks like a fan. They're all touch screens; just push the button for the one you want (it will beep) and then push the start/set button. Enjoy experimenting with it; I certainly have!

The first two, bake and roast, have a fan picture next to them. That is the convection, and will come on automatically. Yes, the convection feature will change cooking time, but I can't say by how much.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.You must select convection when setting the temperature. It doesn't automatically kick the fan on, it happens at intervals during the cooking. There are adjustments that must be made to cooking times, I just look up that information as I come to need it.

I have not adjusted cooking time except when something gives me a range of time, like cake for instance... I make sure I set the timer for the lesser amount of time. Hope this was helpful! I have only had my oven for 3 weeks.
