• Good answer, but I think it may be answering the wrong question. The OP asked about the grates, which I think means the cast iron grates on the stove top burners. This is my question as well, but it appears as I read the response that the answer referred to the oven racks. So, can the cast iron grates on the stove top be cleaned in the self-cleaning oven?
