Spills are not a problem as far as my usage. The vents are on the vertical side of the door. I would think that it would be very difficult for a spill to go inside. With all window type ovens, there is a possibility, but I don't think this should be a big issue on this oven.

I have boiled over water and homemade syrup. It makes a huge ugly mess. The first time I turned on my oven, even before a burner had boiled over, I had streaks in the door. They came out and cleaned it since it was new. They took it all apart. I later boiled water over and had more streaks. I am unable physically to take it apart to clean. Recently, I boiled over homemade blueberry syrup which ran into door glass. After that, to try to prevent the boil over, I placed a towel over the oven door. The knobs are so sensitive for the oven, I unknowingly brushed against them and turned on the oven or broiler. It started the towel on fire. Luckily I discovered it before it developed into a whole kitcken fire. This design flaw could be eliminated by putting a small metal awning over vents to deflect the liquid away from the vents. I intend to use a silicone cooking pad to cover the vents in the future when I am needing to boil something.

This and other Ranges have vents in the door to allow air to circulate between the panes of glass so the door doesn't get excessively hot. If something is spilled into the vents, the only reliable solution for getting it clean is to disassemble the door to clean between the panes, which Samsung recommends having done by a professional to prevent damage to the door or injury to yourself. - Ms. Samsung

The burners are about six inches from the front of the stove and recessed two inches. Boilovers will not spill down the front of the range unless you are using a huge stock pot and fill it way too full. Still, if you DO manage to slop up the front of the stove, you probably need to keep a closer eye on your cooking.
