Is the light permanently on? null

By default the light stays on (set to level 2). But if you press the C/F Light Bulb bulb it will cycle through brightness levels. Press it, then press again and repeat until you see 0 for level zero (i.e. off unless the door is open)

NO, the light is NOT permanently on. The light comes on when you open the door for assistance in viewing. Just a few seconds after you shut the door the light will go off. The biggest pro that I have found is that if you accidently leave the door open, a beeping alarm will sound. Their the best under the counter wine cooler I have ever found. I gave up $2500 Kitchen Aids because these were better. The plus on top of being better is that they were $1500 less and I needed 2 so my savings was over $3000. Also thier tempuratre is "able to be set" Other brands just have a knob to try and set a low and higher tempurature for the red and white wine. This one is "digitallly set" for whatever tempurature you want and if the door is open too long, it will set to the original temputure you had it at before you opened the door. HIGHLY recommended. No, I don't work for Samsung.
