Yes, just like many of the optional features. FYI Bixby will not work with NetFlix
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. For those having a Samsung TV QLED older version, touch “Home” on your remote control, scroll to the left and select “Settings”. Scroll down and select “General”. Scroll down and select “Accessibilty” then select “Voice Guide Settings” to “Off” to turn the annoying Bixby off and you are done. :))
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This is such a garbage voice recognition software. Definitely go to the Bixby -> Explore Now -> Settings icon (top right) -> Turn off Voice Wakeup Voice Wakeup is what responds when the mic interprets the word "Bixby". I swear to God this gets triggered for anything with two syllables and an 'x' or strong sounding 'cks' following a vowel in the middle. It doesn't even have to be that similar. I swear oftentimes it'll get triggered by the most random TV audio. I'll be watching a show or sports game/match and it will trigger Bixby audio recognition at least 2-3 times per 1-2 hours. That doesn't sound like much, but when it's a random thing that completely pauses the flow and it has never been a problem prior to this, it can really get under your skin. Anyway, shut the Voice Wakeup options (or whatever it's called). It's not going to make your life harder AT ALL. You still have the microphone button that will activate voice recognition listening while saying "Bixby" - or seemingly anything remotely close-sounding to that - will not trigger the voice recognition listener. Not sure why they even bother having that Voice Wakeup feature for Bixby if it's already this atrocious in the first place. It's just pathetic to me being in tech how horribly designed Bixby is outside of the most basic functionality pioneered by Apple (Siri), Amazon (Alexa), and Google ("Hey Google" - which doesn't set off by words that aren't the exact same ... unlike BIxby). Long story short, Samsung TV's are great, but if you like using the mic like I do - just make sure you follow the above directions if you want to avoid high blood pressure and anger :) Siri, Google, and Alexa are all miles beyond Bixby, but it's still worth putting up with it to have a great TV. And it's especially worth it when it doesn't try to recognize its name (turning that setting off). Hope this helps, Mr. Mussolini
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I just figured this out. If you have the new Samsung remote, click the microphone button once. The "Explore Bixby" icon should pop up at the bottom of your screen, select this option and then you can access the settings to turn on/turn off Bixby at the top right of the screen. Hope this is helpful. I have the Samsung Q60R tv.
