Yes. The mounting only requires dry wall or paneling for easy mounting found in most finished rooms. Masonry walls would look kelt not require much more than changed fasteners.

Yes, no, I don't know. We had no choice but to hang it over a fireplace (small house). So far, so good. Not the best place to hang it, but it works.
