Thanks everyone, op here. Internet speed is clocking about 400 mbps download so would be frustrated if had to upgrade beyond that. I’m about 20 feet from the router. I don’t really mind using the external device instead of the native apps except for that the picture quality is degraded coming from the appleTv. Going to try to upgrade my hdmi cable otherwise meh. Thanks again!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I haven't had any streaming problems with WiFi on this TV. (Although I've had a few blank/black commercials, but that's a good thing, right?) I've streamed Tubi, Freevee, PlutoTV, Britbox and some other FAST apps, all without problems. I did try running an internet speed test through the built in web browser and got only about 35Mbps on average (highly variable with lows around 11Mbps and highs around 55Mbps). This is to a WiFi router that's 2 feet from the TV. You may have a "flaky" Wifi connection that might be improved by moving the TV closer to the router (or vice versa) or investing in a WiFi extender or maybe a newer (maybe mesh) WiFi router. This TV also has an Ethernet jack so I tried a wired Internet connection. That worked OK for me as well. However, the bandwidth speed test for the wired connection was only about 30Mbps (ranging from around 14Mbps to around 50Mbps).
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I believe the savings on the TV mean that it has a lower power processor compared to your external device. But it could also depend on which wifi signal you're using to connect. If this TV is very far away from your wifi router then I would connect using a 2.4 ghz connection as that gets better signal at longer ranges. While the speed may be a bit lower, I have little issue using a 2.4ghz connection in conjunction with streaming media. On the other end, if that's still causing you issues, swap back to your external device. Smart TVs are great but I think they try to do too much with their low cost processors. I use a Google TV for most of my viewing (mostly so I don't have to sign in again... and again...) but that's just me I suppose. Best of luck!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. That might be due to the tv possibly requiring a higher internet speed for streaming than the device you were using otherwise. Most likely if thats the case having a bit faster internet would fix the issue.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hi rpw12, To improve your Wi-Fi experience please follow the below instructions: First, let's ensure you are running the latest Firmware. Go to Settings> Support> Software Update. To ensure you do not miss any Firmware Updates, I recommend enabling Auto Updates. Go to Settings> Support> Software Update> then select Auto Update. Next, let's try running a cold boot on your TV. To do so, hold down the Power button on the Samsung TV remote until the TV turns off and then on again. This should take about 5 seconds. If you continue to have issues I recommend the following: 1. Use 5Ghz Wi-Fi if possible 2. Try wired LAN if available I hope this helps! ~Samsung Advisor
