How to unlock oven door null

I believe the following, TO OPEN the FULL / COMPLETE OVEN DOOR, one just pulls the handle at the top of the door. To open ONLY THE UPPER SECTION of the oven, there is a button on the backside of the handle that ONE must press / depress. It is NOT POSSIBLE to open JUST THE LOWER SECTION of the oven.

1. you open the upper door by depressing the latch on the handle. 2. you open the entire door by pulling away with some force the oven door without depressing the latch. 3. PROBLEM: when the latching mechanism goes awry, neither 1 or 2 will open the door. You can open the door by first opening the upper door and then manually depressing the latch located in the upper center of the main door, and pulling away at the handle to open the entire door. You still have an inoperable door situation requiring a complete door assembly. Check your warranty.
