First, be very careful to avoid cleaners which will scratch the glass; no Comet or Ajax or even Soft Scrub. For simple spills, a moist micro-fiber cloth works; sometimes, you can moisten the top for slightly more spills, the let it soak for a few minutes, then wipe clean. If this does not remove the spills, I use a razor blade based scraper, which I hold at a 45 degree angle or less, so that the blade will glide across the glass, not angled to try to cut into the glass; you will have to scrap over the affected areas several times, but be careful...you are working with a razor blade!. This will scrap off most of the spill, then I try soaking the remainder to remove. If this does not completely remove the spill, there are glass top cleaners which can assist; I use Weiman Glass Cook Top Cleaner & Polish; they sell a kit with a small amount of the cleaner and a razor blade, and it works great to remove the last of the more stubborn burned on spills. Once all the spill has been removed, I use a little cleaner (like 7th Generation, Meyer's, etc.) to complete the cleaning. Some cleaners will leave a milky, oily film, which you don't want. I even occasionally use window cleaner to make it look new once all traces of the spills have been removed. For the control panel area, I have not spilled much in that area, but have used a soapy dish cloth to remove the spillage, and then wiped with a clean, moist dish cloth. So far, these techniques have kept my new range looking factory fresh. I hope this helps you.
