• Hi Darius, We appreciate your question about the vent of this Samsung slide-in electric range model. This electric range model has a vent for the oven and does not need a switch to operate when the oven is in use. There is no vent equipped on this range for use when cooking on the cooktop unless you have an overhead hood installed (which is a different home appliance). Leo
