Samsung does not manufacture 60 in panels. The panel in the JS8000 in manufactured by Sharp which is a excellent panel. I verified this information in the service menu. . The panel option code is H which means it's a Sharp panel. I do not recommend the average person to enter the service menu.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It may be more towards the 7000 than the 8500. I has a 240 (120 native) refresh whereas the 7000 is a 120 (60 native.) The 8500 does sport the Samsung version for the panel (TH) and the 8000 sports an MD01, which it is not; probably a Sharp panel and similar to the 7000. Look at the Canada websites as they also sell a JS8000 with the same specs. Samsung chat would not say if it is the same stating they do not comment on what other countries sell. There is a good chat on AVSForum if you are interested.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I am not sure about it being inferior quality, but yes this TV does use a different panel from the ones Samsung makes and uses for their 55"/65" 8500 series.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.i think it might be an 8 bit panel vs 10 bit. the 8500 is better, but not like crazy better imo.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. That is what we heard but we can't tell any difference so far. Just have to wait and see how it lasts.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. For the price difference, the JS8500 is not worth the extra money. The picture quality is only marginally better in my opinion.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You are on target with you question. JS is the first name of an adopted TV, made by Samsung, exclusively for BestBuy. This happens all the time. Dell does it with monitors; when a new line is developed which is far superior to previous Monitors, the cost to manufacture the new line is going to make it impossible for "most customers" to "buy in". So a 25 Inch and a 32 Inch are the real deal, 5K, H-IPS (or even more advanced), very fast refresh rates, low latencies, premier 1.07billion colors, and a screen advancement which isn't found in the much cheaper 27 inch in the same line. Check out this discussion on this link and you will see what happens when customers "think" and put their "thoughts" together! http://slickdeals.net/f/8254845-samsung-un60js8000fxza-60-4k-tv-1399-free-shiping-best-buy
