The 9000 has the smart remote (the one you talk to), Has better sound 20w VS. 60w and has a brighter screen.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. While both TVs are pretty much the same minus some behind the scenes stuff from what I've seen being around both TVs on a daily basis the 8000 has a lot of light blooming that the 9000 doesn't have. The curved versions of the 8 series extremely accentuates this issue and makes off-angle viewing pretty bad (thought that was the purpose of curved Samsung!!!). Anyways, both TVs are awesome, if you can afford the difference to the 9000 I would go with that given your blacks will be richer and blooming will be minimalized.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I bought the 9000. Knowing then what I know now, I would have bought the 8000. The price difference is not worth it.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.According to my google research, there are a few significant differences, see below. The price differential is about 40%, which is also significant. Which one you choose is completely dependent on how big a deal the updated features are to you and what your budget is. Some people say they can't notice much of difference, others say they can. "The key differences of Samsung UN65KS9000 and UN65KS8000 are located on their picture, refresh rate and speaker system. Samsung UN65KS9000 is completed with advanced Dimming technology that named Supreme UHD Dimming, while Samsung UN65KS8000 only comes with standard UHD Dimming that used for few years by Samsung’s 4K UHD TV. With Supreme Dimming, you can enjoy more brilliant vibrant color details on the TV screen than what you can get with usual UHD Dimming. The next difference comes from the refresh rate technology. Samsung UN65KS9000 comes with Supreme MR 240, while Samsung UN65KS8000 use Motion Rate 240. Supreme MR 240 are the new Motion Rate technology that introduced by Samsung in 2016 to deliver flicker free motion images, as well as creating seamless fast video with better accuracy. Overall, with Supreme MR 240, you can enjoy better fast motion images than what you can get with Motion Rate 240. There’s also difference on the speaker system installed on Samsung UN65KS9000 and the one installed on Samsung UN65KS8000. Samsung UN65KS9000 is completed with more powerful 4.1Ch 60W speaker system, while Samsung UN65KS8000 only comes with 2.1CH 40W speaker system. With 4.1Ch 60W speaker system, you can enjoy more powerful immersive sound quality than the one that you can get on Samsung UN65KS9000." http://www.uhdtvvs.com/samsung-un65ks9000-vs-un65ks8000-review-should-you-choose-samsung-un65ks9000/
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. If you watch fast movement and sports, and play hdr 4K games.... go with the 9000. If not 8000 is it
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The Samsung KS8000 is a better buy. It is almost as good as the KS9000 on all aspect, it just doesn't get as bright. The price difference is not worth it, so buy the cheaper KS8000. Source: http://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/samsung/ks9000
