A:Answer We have moved to this set from a 55 inch HD Samsung. The quality of the sound is smoother, less glaring, even when it is turned up louder, it still isn't "painful" to listen to! And I wear a hearing aid on one side. That being said, our normal volume is a little higher, but much more comfortable. However, it shouldn't have to be that high for you to hear comfortably. Two things come to mind....(1) Your cable/satellite provider may have a solution, perhaps something in their settings. And (2) Have you checked the advanced settings to see if something is set at the wrong level for your viewing listening pleasure? I wish you luck, it really is a whole new experience!!!
