A couple differences between the Q80 and Q90. The q90 can hit a NIT brightness of 2000. Which makes it one of the brightest leds on the market. Plus it has a recessed area on the back on the tv where it can use the no gap wall mount. Last, but not least, the tv comes with the one connect cable and once connect box. The cable that currently comes with it is not currently in wall rated. If I am correct, SAMSUNG decided to sell the in wall rated on their official site. The q80 can hit a NIT brightness of 1500. It is not compatible with the no gap wall mount and does not need the one connect cable or one connect box. BOTH sets have the ultra wide viewing angle and two antiglare finish for the screen. I hope this helps you.

Also, the Q90R has more effective local dimming thanks to the greater number of local dimming zones than the Q80R. More bright. Better black uniformity. Better at handling reflections. Better on the color gamut, color volume, and gradient picture. Things the Q80 does better than the Q90: Slightly better viewing angle. Significantly better Pre-Calibration color accuracy. Post-Calibration, they're almost equal, with the Q80 barely edging it out. Better at handling stutter (jarring effect). The sound quality and sound distortion are better. *** I can't take any credit for the above info, as it was taken from rtings.com on their side by side comparison. I just gathered the details and summarized for the folks on here. Just trying to help out those on the fence.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Q90 is a step up from Q80. It has a 'smartbox'. The Q80 connections are on tv, Q90 is on the smart box that can be inside an entertainment system, NO WIRES HANGING. Regarding your bedroom, I would use the Q80, mainly because of price difference. The Q90 is like a theater in your living room.
