most of the answered are wrong! it has a built in battery inside where the solar cell/USB charger need to charge and store power... it is not your typical AAA replaceble battery but it is lithium ion! think of it like yur smartphone... it is not a replaceable pack by consumers!

It takes a bit to remember to lay the remote face down, but now it's habit. You can also charge the remote with a cord from a cell phone or other device.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.So am I to assume that when & if the battery will not charge anymore, that you have to replace the entire remote control?? If so, I'd rather replace it with a compatible remote, similar, but one with replaceable batteries like "AAAs"
