OP here - I don’t have the Q80R TV, I have this TV - the Q80T. I have the Q80R soundbar. What I’m trying to ask is, will Dolby Atmos passthrough via HDMI3 if a 4K120 hz device (ie, the Xbox) is plugged in via HDMI4? I’m trying to determine if this TV really can do Atmos and 4K120hz at the same time. Because the native apps DON’T pass Atmos audio through to the soundbar. You have to use a device. Which is why I bought the Apple 4K TV.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hi Dave! The Q80R TV supports ARC technology on HDMI 3, allowing you to pass Dolby Atmos to your HW-Q80R soundbar. The Q80R does not support 4K@120Hz through HDMI 4. When stepping to the new Q80T, you gain eARC through HDMI 3 allowing higher quality passthrough, while HDMI 4 gives you 4K@120fps (FRL). ^Tim
