Purchased an S89C on 11/26/2023 from BBuy. It is a 77" and has the QD OLED screen (see pic). This seems to be the best kept secret in the OLED world. At 2k for a 77" QD OLED, this is the best deal of the season. Great features on this Samsung and paying 500 more for an S90C or LG C3 didn't represent enough useful value for my needs. I am replacing a 65" Sony XBR X750D, which is now my dedicated gaming screen. I would have bought another Sony, but I'd have had to get the A95K to get equal to this Samsung. And the price difference is massive.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I had the 77" s90c on order and ended up buying the 77" s89c and took a close-up photo of the pixels - it is indeed a QD-OLED panel with absolutely stunning picture quality. Deep, rich colors with more expert picture adjustments than you can imagine. It also has several picture modes including Movie and Filmmaker - each of which can be customized to your liking. I'm definitely happy to have paid $400 less for this tv compared to the s90c (at least until we figure out what the extra $400 gets us on the s90c).
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have the S89C. It is QD OLED, it has Filmmaker mode, and is a gen 2 panel based on my Ana Peak value of 588. Only difference from S90C is the stand and missing Tap View feature.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.S89C is a QD OLED not WOLED. https://www.rtings.com/tv/tools/compare/samsung-s89c-oled-vs-lg-c4-oled/41498/49541
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. Not true that the panel is sourced from lg. The 83s90c is, as samsung did not make a qdoled panel in the 83" size. The model in question is the same as the s94bd, a drop in sku for bestbuy that does not have the tap functionality to mirror devices to the tv and a scaled down lite version of object tracking sound.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hi Mike - When comparing both models, the S89C utilizes a 2-legged stand, whereas the S90C has a center stand. Additionally, the S90C includes features like Filmmaker Mode and Tap Mode. ~ Samsung Specialist
