What is OLED, and why is it so expensive??? null

Hi Kenneth, Unlike LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) panels, OLED (Organic Light-Emitting Diode) panels have self-lit pixels. This allows the TV to control the colors of individual pixels to create life-like colors. It also allows the TV to turn individual pixels on and off to create perfect blacks for incredible contrast when viewing HDR content. ~Samsung Advisor

Dont know but it has come down slightly.
