The 85" Q90T is the top 4K QLED television in Samsung's US line-up. The 82" Q90R is the 2019 top of the line 4K QLED television. However, with Samsung focusing on 8K televisions rather than 4K televisions in 2020, some of the premium features of found in the 4K sets were dropped in the 2020 Q90T and only made available in the 8K televisions. So, some key differences are: 1.) Samsung "OneConnect": The Q90R has the Samsung OneConnect feature that allows all of the connections to be managed in a separate break out box. For 2020, the only Samsung QLED [in the US market] that supports OneConnect is the 8K model. 2.) Wall Mounting: The Q90R supports a zero gap wall mounting kit that minimizes the gap between the TV and wall. The zero gap mount is not available on the Q90T. However, the Q90T is a slimmer set, which may compensate for the lack of a zero gap wall mount depending on your choice of mount. 3.) Local Dimming: The Q90R has a massive 480 dimming zones to enhance screen contrast and minimize blooming. The Q90T has only 96 local dimming zones, but uses software to manage with fewer zones. While the Q90T does a remarkable job with fewer zones, the Q90R picture quality is slightly better for dynamic contrast. 4.) Screen Size: The screen size of the Q90R is 3 inches smaller. The Q90T has only a slightly larger screen size, but size may be a key factor given the price of the sets.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hello. The new Q90T has eARC built in while the Q90R does not. I would like to say the Q90T has better sound. However, the Q90R arguably has a better picture due to more dimming zones. The Q90T has Alexa instead of Bigsby(sp?)
