A:AnswerI had no problems replacing the older (and slower) HDD and installing this SSD on my Dell Inspiron. I used Samsung data migration software with a USB to SATA cord to transfer everything from my old hard drive to the SDD. The Samsung data migration software is free and is easy to use.
A:AnswerYou can... but you may need a converter just to fit it inside your iMac... original size HDD is 3.5... SSD are same size as Old Laptop HDD which is 2.5....

A:AnswerNo it is not as its an internal drive. However it does support encrypted data mode which would be controlled by the machine that it is installed in. In that sense it may be called "password" protected file system as encryption key is in an essence a password. Hope this helps
A:AnswerAny motherboard with a SATA interface will take it but keep in mind the older the motherboard, the more the SSD performance is affected. Also check the space allotted for the hard drive (3.5” or 2.5”). You’d be best served buying a comparable HDD (spinning disk drive).
