You don't have to pay for Google Docs, nor Cloud Print.

Please try again later.Honestly, I think Google Docs only works online.Google Docs is not 'installed' on the device, so if you were to start a new project, you'd click the Google Docs icon, and it will pop up Chrome and say "you are not connected to the internet." However, if you get connected, open Google Docs, and start a new document, then you disconnect without closing the document, I think you can keep typing. To save it to your device, click "File" -> "Download As" -> (select Microsoft Word, OpenText, Rich Text, Pain Text, PDF, etc.). This will allow you to save it to your device and continue working until you're back online. You will need to be online to print, too, using Google Cloud Print. I hope this helps!
