When in doubt, go with the manufacturer's product. http://www.samsung.com/us/mobile/mobile-accessories/phones/usb-c-to-hdmi-adapter--black-ee-hg950dbegww/ Before you do try plugging the hdmi cord into the tv first, then plug in the usb type - c into one of the ports. It should automatically extend to the external monitor. Once it is plugged in try going to your status tray at the bottom right where it displays the time and battery. Select settings, then select display settings under device. If your chrome book is detecting the cable it will give you a drop down menu where you can choose between mirroring, and extended display.
