• yes, you can also use the pen to "write" instead of typing. It is under your settings for keyboard.

• Yes, you can. You can either use the S-pen to "type" on the virtual keyboard OR you can use it to write a "handwritten" note and send that as a text. It's really kind of neat, since it puts a "personal touch" to text messages.
