• A:Answer Of course. I bought unlock phones at Best buy and sent them to my family in Africa and everything is perfect. I am metro pcs customer as well, I activated a Samsung s10 I got from best buy unlocked and it's ok as well.

• A:Answer I don't know about the trade in part, but I do know that if you buy an unlocked phone, you can use your Consumer Cellular sim card. That is what I did. Best Buy took care of taking out the sim card, putting it in the new phone, transferring the data, etc. Easy peasy, and I walked out 15 minutes later with new operational phone in hand.
