• “With activation” means you have to link the phone to a cellular service provider at the time of purchase. You would need to do that anyway to be able to use the phone. As to your particular “prepaid service,” you’d need to check with them (FAQ at website, maybe) to make sure that you can bring over an unlocked phone.

• It is not a contract phone with a specific carrier. I bought it and activated it myself on T-Mobile on my prepaid service with them. To do that I paid the higher price of activation later
