If you look at the pricing details one will say activate today and one says activate later; by clicking on activate now you usually get a $50 discount from us, or sometimes more, for activating it directly onto your carrier to cover the automatic upgrade charge that they put on your account. So, for example if the initial device costs $179, this would make the price $139 from the original price of $179. If you are a Verizon customer you can put it directly onto your Verizon account by clicking activate now and logging into your Verizon account and the discount is automatically applied. If you do not want to activate it at the time of purchase it costs full price as there is no upgrade fee. You would simply need to click activate now and then log into your already existing Verizon account to confirm your identity and the discount is automatically applied. To answer your question about your prepaid plan, no it will not work. This is a promotion that is only available for one of the contracted major postpaid carriers we partner with which is Verizon/AT&T/T-mobile.
