When i got mine, even though im contracted with at&t, i purchased the geek squad protection plan, simply because its easier to deal with best buy rather than asurion.

So, ask for the Geek Squad coverage while visiting your local Best Buy. Keep in mind that if you have renters/homeowners insurance, call your insurance company about adding coverage for your phone. Its that easy. Square Trade and other coverage sites can sometimes provide a protection plan too.
