I WAS TOLD BY A SAMSUNG TECH. TO CHARGE IT OUT OF THE BOX, FOR 8-12 HOURS.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.in the manual it just says until it is fully charged, that is what I did. It doesn't take long, maybe an hour. I think they are doing initial charging at the factories now...

Used it for a few hours and then plugged it in and went to bed. You can see the charge status, even when the unit is off when it is plugged it, it has a pic of a battery with visual (battery pic shows the level in color and also percentage)
