You can take calls (I'd recommend having a bluetooth headset but you can use the built in speaker and mic as well), and you can see and respond to text messages either by dictating what you want to text, sending an emoji, or using a Smart Keyboard where you start drawing what you want to say on your watch and it can recognize it and autocomplete. You also get all the notifications from your phone... so alarms, reminders, social media notifications, etc. There are some amazing golf apps available for the watch including Golf Navi Pro and Smart Caddy. There are 3rd party apps like MyFitnessPal but the selection of apps is not that great. there are, however, a TON of amazing free and paid watch faces to download.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You can swipe to answer a call on the watch but it answers on the phone. You can't talk on the watch. You can read and respond to text messages on the watch. Hope this is helpful.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The Active doesn't have a built in speaker to answer and talk, however if you have a bluetooth you can swipe to connect call to your bluetooth. Only thing missing from this phone compared to the others but you get sooo much more Active than the others. It's a trade off I didn't mind and still don't after a month of wearing it...stylish color, smaller face, lighter on wrist and can track more activities to help you stay healthy. Hope this helps
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You can control your phone (although, you have more control with a Samsung phone than other brands) but there is no speaker on the watch. It has a built in assistant you can issue commands to and you can dictate texts and send those. The watch, like I said, really just controls your phone. The music app you can get doesn't play the music but controls the phone as the phone plays the music. You'll need some sort of speaker or headphones on your phone if you want to go hands free. I've added a few apps so far like a fall detection app and that one works in a limited way as it merely acts on what the phone senses rather than the feedback to the watch. In short, the watch will only give you haptic responses unless you plug some kind of output device to your phone. This is really just a relay between you and the phone controls.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. In trying to verify ability to answer calls, i chatted with samsung support and they could not find an answer to if the watch had a speaker. So at this point, we only know you can respond to texts and unknown on ability to answer calls. I have seen mention of ability to store music and it has the spotify app. That either would imply a speaker or maybe it just works with wireless earbuds. Otherwise there would be no point in a music app or music storage on the smartwatch.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I believe as long as your phone is connected via Bluetooth, that you should be able to answer calls and respond to texts. There is no LTE so can't leave phone at home. If you have an iphone, then you can't respond to texts.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You can connect a Bluetooth headset and answer calls and dictate to answer text but only with Samsung phones. iPhones can only view messages and view callers. You can view emails and weather apps in the watch, just make sure you have notifications enabled in the galaxy watch app in your phone (iOS or Android )
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You can answer calls but must then get your phone to actually have a conversation. You cannot use the watch to talk on the phone and listen to the other person. You can text and use other apps though!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.you can't use this to talk on the phone but you can answer calls to talk on your handset with. You can send and receive messages on the watch and you have access to samsung store apps but I don't think you can get 3rd party apps. Samsung has a wide array of apps however so you could probably get a golf app there.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Only the Active2 can actually take calls!
