The Watch is unlocked. I have AT&T and if I leave the phone home it works off its Data Plan. Or you can Bluetooth it and have your phone with you for it to work...
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The watch does seem to be unlocked. I use AT&T and while it took awhile to get the watch registered with the IMEI # they did register my phone and assured me that after about 24 hours it would work through the network. The option that I used will allow the phone to work independently through my existing number if my phone is shut off. I have to honest and say that I was told this would not work independent until it was turned on through ATTs system which would take about 48 hours which hasn't occurred yet. that being said ATT was able to set the watch up.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I’m not really understanding all the confusion I work for Samsung the issue isn’t with Samsung it’s with the other carriers deciding to carry it which they have committed to doing they are just working out the numbers everything revolves around the $$. Wearables don’t generate a ton of revenue for carriers so they need to know how to compensate places like BB and other authorized stores for the add on. Be patient they will get it done FYI Verizon goes live tomorrow.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Best Buy says the unlocked phone only works on T mobile Verizon needs to chime in here. Thinking of switching to T Mobile and they want to pay up to $650 to pay off iPhone on my Verizon line. Why is Verizon living in the dark ages???
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.According to a Samsung rep at the Best Buy store, I visited the watch is unlocked but it can't be used on other networks until Samsung send an update to the device to allow it to be used on all the other networks. This is why Best Buy label the watch unlocked. The Samsung rep also stated that they were told in training that the watch would be unlocked at the release date, but he wasn't sure why it was released with T-Mobile LTE only. The update to allow all carrier LTE service is supposed to come by the end September or sometime in October.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This watch has an eSim so theoretically it is unlocked and can be used on any GSM network.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Currently T-Mobile is the ONLY wireless carrier that is authorized by Samsung to offer cellular/data plans for the Galaxy Watch. So right now all of the LTE versions of the watch are going to require a plan with T-Mobile in order to be fully functional without having your cell phone close by.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I asked the same question directly to Samsung. There answer is that it uses an eSIM in place of a traditional SIM and is locked to the carrier and cannot be changed if you change carriers.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Only Tmobile
