An open box is typically a returned item from a customer. I purchased an open-box Galaxy 5 pro this year and it had issues detecting my sleep time. I went to the Geek counter and was told the watches once registered to a client cannot be successfully reregistered to another. It won't function properly. I returned the open-box watch 5 pro because of this information.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The difference between new and open box is that new means it is brand new and open box means that someone has bought it than returned it. Keep in mind tho when buying open box to look at the different prices on the conditions and let that be a guide on how you are going to buy in what condition you really want

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. In my experiences with the two, there is not much difference, if at all. B.B. checks and verifies that the item is working properly before putting online or on shelf. The only difference MAY be cosmetically, depending on the grade of the open box. They typically have tiers of their open box grading.
