What does refurbished mean? null

Do you want the dictionary definition that every company follows? Or do you want Best Buys version? For Best Buy it is no different than open box, except they put some inspection sticker on it to make you feel good. Ive bought both open box and refurbished from BB and they are the same. Refurb has been worse: missing components, sloppy presentatio, torn, painted, destroyed. They DO NOT actually refurb. They make it look like they do and nothing else. Its dishonest what they do.

Following up on my previous comment about the poor battery life, upon further research, even brand new the batteries last under 5 hours. The advertised "18 hour" battery life is deceptive, and refers to the total battery life if recharged periodically using the case. Shame on both Samsung and Best Buy for this deceptive advertising. I have been unable to find any information on BB's website about expectations for battery life for refurbished products, so again, buyer beware. Geek Squad declined my request to call or email me to explain whether they can replace batteries, and instead waited for me to come in to the store to tell me no, they cannot replace batteries. Geek Squad also told me I could exchange them at the customer service counter, only for me to be told by customer service that only refunds were possible. All in all a very dissatisfying customer experience.

Refurbished means that it was used then turned in and "cleaned up" for resale.

What it does NOT mean (apparently) is that the battery life is anything like new. Mine conked out after 3 hours from a full charge, using only the noise cancelling function the whole time. Buyer beware.

Refurbished means they are renewed or fixed. An example is, you have a phone with scratches and cracks all over. When it is Refurbished, the phone is fixed as much as possible with new parts. These earbuds are Refurbished by geek squad, mainly scuffs, cosmetic and few parts are repaired and replaced. Refurbished items are sometimes done by original manufacturers but may still have some defects. Such as a squeaky hinge or cosmetic damage.
