QuestionIs it hard to set up to my Samsung TV that is about 5 years old? I got a Yamaha sound bar and it was impossible to set up with my Samsung tv and sent it back.

- Answer Hi jimjam! The HW-S50A requires an HDMI ARC or Digital Optical Audio connection to connect to. If your TV supports it, you can also take advantage of Bluetooth wireless audio technology. Check the back of your TV or consult the manual if needed to determine if your existing Samsung TV supports one of these three audio connections. ^Tim

- Answer Hi VikB! The HW-S50A is a 140W soundbar. You can add the SWA-W500 should you feel you need more bass than the built in woofers can provide. ^Tim

- Answer Hi Amari! The HW-S50A does not feature an HDMI input allowing you to connect an external HDMI device direct to the soundbar. You will need to first connect the device to the TV, then connect the soundbar to the TV to receive the audio. The HW-S50A is also compatible with Bluetooth wireless audio technology for additional ways to connect. ^Tim

- Answer Hi Lee! The HW-S50A can be placed on a mantel in front or below the TV providing optimal sound quality. You do not need to wall mount this model for optimal sound. ^Tim

- Answer Hi Snoopy! TV remotes have to be enabled on your soundbar. By default, Samsung TV remotes are enabled on your soundbar. If it isn't working, be sure the soundbar is powered on, then press and hold the WOOFER button. Each time you push the WOOFER button up and hold it for 5 seconds, the mode switches in the following order: “Off-TV Remote” (Default mode), “Samsung-TV Remote”, “All-TV Remote”. ^Tim

QuestionJust purchased this. Tried to set it up BUT I already have a Firetvstick in my HDMI port. There is a. USB port right below. (My Samsung TV is about 11 years old but still working well). If I get an Optical Cable will it work ??? Thank you, Judy

If your TV supports one of these two audio connections, you will be able to use this soundbar. - Answer Hello! Yes you can play music directly from a USB thumb drive to the soundbar. 1. Connect the soundbar with the USB stick by the USB adapter. • The Micro USB to USB adapter cable is sold separately. 2. Press the Source button on the top panel or remote control, and then select the “USB” mode. 3. Play music files from the USB storage device through the soundbar. • The soundbar automatically turns off (Auto Power Down) if no USB device has been connected for more than 20 minutes. ^Andrew

- Answer You just have to slide it from the top. It took me a bit to get it open also. Now that it is hooked up to my tv, the sound is controlled with my tv remote so I don't even use the sound bar remote.
