I had one spot where I had this issue. I used a screw and mounted a quarter sized washer to the wall and mounted it to that.

Please try again later.The pedestal magnetic base uses 3M’s VHB (very high bond) to attach to surfaces... it does not use the Command strips to attach so it only needs a clean oil free surface... once it is applied it will totally cure in approximately 72 hours... if you want to move to a different place, the bond will have to be cut off and could tear off the surface of the drywall if not done carefully and will leave a residue or part of its foam... also the bonding tape will have to be replaced since it is a one time use adhesive. You can also mount this to any metal surface that a magnet will attach to without using the included base... if this is done you do lose the adjustment that the pedestal ball allows...
