• Yes, there is backlighting. Not very bright, but it's there.

• Yes it has a backlight. It is pretty bright if you set it on high (Fn + F9)

• Yes, there is a backlight. The other poster probably kept it at the low beam setting. The backlight has three settings. If you press the function key along with the backlight button (F9) three times, you'll get the high beam (brighter) setting.
