• HDMI 2.1 standard supports up to 144Hz refresh over HDMI, including 120Hz with the latest consoles. The full 240Hz action is available only over DisplayPort 1.4 and need a GPU that supports Display Stream Compression (DSC). Any certified HDMI 2.1 cable will allow you the 144Hz rate.

• Any high-speed HDMI cable can reach up to 240hz, at least at 1080p.

• The hdmi port does not allow you to change the refresh rate in the settings while the display port does allow that as mentioned by the manufacturer in the instructions
