I have both types of glasses. Traditional glasses (Model: SSG-5150GB/ZA) are more light weight, but use 'button cell' batteries that cost about a dollar a piece. Rechargeable glasses (Model: SSG-3570CR/ZA) plug in via USB on your tv to save on battery cost (provided in the box to sync to tv). I think most TV's come with the battery operated glasses as they were about $20 when I bought another pair compared to the $50 each for the rechargeable glasses. I can't tell a difference in video quality between the two types, but the rechargeable glasses are more bulky and harder to wear around the ear. Hope this helps.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.i am not familiar with your model but if you need rechargeable 3D glasses you can buy a pair of active 3D Glass at Best Buy. THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN ACTIVE AND PASSIVE IS THAT THE PASSIVE GLASSES CAN Turn any and all programs into 3D. In the active glasses they need to run on batteries , I think some of the older plasma TV's the TV like the new monitor/TV models today created the 3D. the new model 4K TV's use a passive system which let the TV create the 3D and use passive glasses.

The glasses that use batteries are supposed to last 70 hours, but every review I have read online says that they usually last 2 movies or less. So you can spend about $17-20 per pair and then go through batteries, or spend $50 per pair upfront and not worry about batteries ever. I can also say that I find the rechargeable glasses much more comfortable than the battery powered ones that came with my TV (I save those for guest and kids that I don't want breaking my rechargeable glasses). Your Samsung plasma will most likely come with cheap battery powered ones (my UN60H7150 did).
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Because the batteries dont last long and are expensive. The recharable ones can be plugged in for 5 minutes and will work for at least two hours or more.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Because it goes through batteries like 1 battery to 5 3D movies. So if you can recharge you will save money in the long run. But the non-rechargeable are good if you do not watch a lot of 3d stuff.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The traditional 3D glasses that come with the Samsung TV are suppose to last for 150 hrs. of viewing time. That seems like a lot but I hope to be watching more and more 3D movies as they become available. The rechargable one just give me the satisfaction of knowing that I will always have glasses available for use even a few years from now. If you wait for the glasses to go one sale they aren't that pricey for the time that you will have them. Rechargable glasses are a bit heavier then the traditional ones due to the battery but they weren't uncomfortable to wear even over other glasses.
