  • QuestionWill this work for the DV40J3000GW Samsung Gas Dryer for right side venting? How many inches will this save on the back side of dryer to the wall for configuration? Do the Best Buy intallers set this up?

    • Answer ((I am not positive that it works for Gas Dryers, but I believe it does.-verify with downloaded manual)) If so, it will save about 5 inches - behind the dryer- as in, my Samsung dryer is installed 5 inches closer to the back wall than it would have been because without it, the 4" diameter exhaust would have come out the back and then turned right towards the vent on the right side which takes about 5" clearance. You are still supposed to leave a little room for a heat buffer between the dryer and the back wall. Remember however, the exhaust will need to enter into a vent on the (right side you said) and this may require a bit of space- don't leave bare minimum area for both washer and dryer to squeeze in there- you may need space for a jog in your vent line- verify exactly where the vent exits dryer ! -and try to make it a straight shot . There are other ways to get close clearance: 1: special rectangular duct hook ups which are only 2" thick, and 2: by installing a "the dryer box" for your dryer vent. Good luck.

    • Answer You have to completely take it appart to install properly. Make sure you get tape for duct work (silver and shiny) to help seal it up.
