This is a heat and moisture guard for countertops that are wood or something that could be damaged by heat and moisture. We have granite so we didn't even install. I suspect it's because the washer automatically opens the door when done washing to help it dry and air out. If you have granite or stone don't install. If you have wood based or such then you need to center to the top and apply across top and down the sides a bit.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I believe it goes on the underside of the counter top. It will protect the counter top from the steam when the dish washer opens up for the last 5 minutes of the cleaning cycle.
