The 45W charger “DOES” charge a device (let’s compare the s10+ for this example) a bit faster. However, the differences ARE NOT as “big” as one might think/believe. The S10+ will be charged to 100% using the “super” fast 45W charger in roughly 60 mins (for more accurate data....it’s like 50-58 mins). The 25W “Super” Fast Charger will take roughly an extra 10-17 mins on average. So, empty to full for S10+ with a 25W charger will be “about” 65-77 mins. For the price of the 45W charger & the “compatibility” for devices....imo, not worth it. Why, you may ask....simple. For the new (Q1 2020) Galaxy S20 line of phones, the 45W AND 25W Chargers are SUPPORTED. Here’s some DATA for you: Galaxy S20 Ultra 25W vs 45W charging speeds: 15 min: 32% on 25W, 37% on 45W 30 mins: 62% on 25W, 70% on 45W 45 mins: 89% on 25W, 92% on 45W 59 mins (25W) vs 59 mins (45W) for FULL 100% Charge BUT, THE GALAXY NOTE 20 5G/20 ULTRA 5G Phones “ONLY SUPPORT” the 25W Charger! Also, the S20 Ultra is only phone w/ 5000mAh Battery, whereas the Note 20 Ultra is rocking a 4500mAh battery (not sure as to why; as personally....I’d have liked a 5200mAh). But, again; from 5% to 100% FULL on my personal daily Note 20 Ultra 5G and the included 25W charger (imagine, I got a usb-c to c cbarger & cable inside the box! w/ option of requesting usb-c AKG earbuds for FREE [which I did, & received 9 days after requesting...as I did so at 1 am on a Friday night/Saturday morning, lol], compared to devices that come w/ nadda, but phone) takes anywhere from 55 mins to 72 mins. IMO, that’s great, & 1 major feature to keep in mind, go to Settings>Device Care>Battery>Charging»”AND TURN ON ALL 3 CHARGING OPTIONS”. It will help you, imo. So, conclusion, imo, the newer upcoming phones will do FINE with a 25W fast charger, IF THEY COME W/ ONE AND/OR USB-C CABLE, since Apple started trend of not including such “redundant inconsequential accessories” WITH a phone/device since GREEN IS GOOD, and yes, I’m talking the colour of MONEY; NOT ENVIRONMENT . Cuz heck, why give FREE, when can charge ppl for an accessory THEY NEED (especially if upgrading from older devices using micro hdmi etc...) when ppl WILL pay to get the accessory, a new trend other companies now follow! So again, I go 25W charger, as it’s A GUARANTEE newer devices WILL SUPPORT, whereas the 45W charger isn’t. Hope helps
I would recommend:
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.i own both and the 45 is faster for sure. you get what you pay for. if you are in a rush get the 45. the 25 works too but just a touch slower than the 45.
