Yes, every type of file can be stored on this SSD, there is not file type limitation. It includes a USB Typc-C cables and a USB Typa-a to Type C cable. Usb Type-A is the normal USB that we've all been using for the past couple decades, and Type-C is the new version that's better in many ways but isn't as popular yet, just give it time and it will fully replace the Typa-A version.

It should be able to transfer photos from a phone, assuming it is an android device (ios might work too) and possibly texts, although I wouldn't count on it. The drive has a usb type c port and includes two cables: a USB C to USB C and a USB A to USB C. If you want to connect it to a phone with a micro USB or lightning cable, you would probably need to buy your own. Again, I'm not sure how well this would work for iphones. It seems to be meant for desktops and laptops.
