Q: Questionwhat the differenc between ubdk 8500 and ubd m9500 witch is better with ultra hd movies 4k

• A:Answer Both are great players and have tons of apps. The 9500 (2017 model) will recognize HDR UHD disks on its own. However, it will not play 3D bluray. The 8500 (2016 model) doesn't autocorrect for format, however it WILL play 3D Bluray movies.

Q: QuestionI own the ubd-k8500, for users who owned this previous model and upgraded to this one, is it really worth dishing out another 300.00 or should i just stick with the one i have. Im more interested in the video/audio qualities more over then the apps.

• A:Answer I recently purchased the unit in question and find that if you are satisfied with the quality of the picture you currently have, than don't change. In other words, if viewing 4K streaming and 4K ultra DVDs aren't your thing, then there's no reason to purchase this unit. However since it has a 4K receiver; the upgrade is phenomenal; it can play the 4K Ultra DVD's and stream shows in 4K from Netflix, VUDU et al. It has 2 HDMI's portals as well and I connect my Blu-ray player through my TV and through my auxiliary sound system so the sound quality is better than just through the TV. If you own a Samsung TV the interface is excellent as well. It's easy to navigate back-and-forth between your cable and the Blu-ray player. As far as the quality of the picture, the upscale of a regular DVD and of HD Blu-ray discs is incredible. You really see it with the 4K ultra DVDs. You feel like you're at a movie theater if you have a compatible 4K ultra TV. One more thing, about the price. I got my Blu-ray player as an "open box" sale and redeemed coupons so I didn't pay the full retail price of $300. It is rather steep but will likely go on sale over the holidays. I advise you look for sales or an open box and get at least $50-$75 off. Mine works just fine and I didn't have to pay full price. I hope this helps.

• A:Answer I own the Xbox one S 4k upgraded to the Samsung 9500 Blu-ray When I first watched a movie on the 9500 I was like oh my God the picture quality is crystal clear so I went into my sons room put in a movie on the Xbox one s it makes you feel like you're not watching 4K when you watch on the Xbox after watching on the 9500 All of our TVs are Samsung 4K I put off getting the 9500 because I didn't see wide to spend the extra money I can definitely see it worth it now picture quality is awesome

• A:Answer No I haven't found any setting on the player itself that will allow the feature you mentioned so I do this with my TV setting instead so I don't take a chance on getting screen burn. Hope this helps.

Q: QuestionI got this player for Christmas and the Dolby Atmos works perfectly but the blu ray part is much brighter than the 4k which is much darker on Across the Universe when I use the 4k disc. Any reason? Is something set wrong?

• A:Answer The only movie I've watched on it so far is Planet Earth II in 4K UHD Blue Ray. 4K UHD with HDR should make the Blacks darker and the colors brighter. If it's too dark, go to the settings and turn off the HDR feature in the DVD player. I had it off for one DVD and it still looked good, but when I turned it to Auto, it became a bit darker. Also, check the TV picture setting, if it's a Samsung, switch from Standard, Movie, and Dynamic to see if it makes difference. Also, are you using an HD HDMI cable? One that transmits at least 18GB per second of bandwidth? That will also help. I'm not an expert, but I was able to find the best settings for mine. Hope this helps out.

• A:Answer Either the Samsung 8500 or 9500 would be my unit of choice. I use Consumer Reports and Sound and Vision Magazine testing for all of my electronics purchases. The 8500 was last year's Product of the Year with S and V and 9500 recently reviewed as an upgrade to the 8500. Check the Sound and Vision Magazine Website under Product Reviews and you can check the reviews and do a comparison of product. Best Buy does price match so check Amazon and BB match policy for the different on line stores. Go with the Extended Warranty on any of your smaller home theater products. If there is an issue out of the product warranty coverage, Best Buy will let you go with a replacement model or upgrade to a d8fferent model or brand. Hope this helps. Thanks!

• A:Answer no, this player doesn't have Voice Recognition ... only a smart hub for wifi connection ... there may be a remote console out there that is programed to manage TV, Receiver, Blue Ray and other devices and it may have VR but it's be mucho $$$$ ... hope this helps. • A:Answer Hello The player (UBD-M9500) DOES have the ability to open and close the player using the remote. It also has the ability to start playing the disc using the remote. I own this player (UBD-M9500) and I am very happy with it. I also own one of the model # UBD-M8500 (which is one model number below the 9500) that I use in my bedroom and I am also very well pleased with it also. It also has the same ability to open, close and start playback using the remote that came with it. I hope this information has been helpful. Thank you.

• A:Answer I had the flashing red light on a new M8500 model and after talking to Samsung online (live chat) they indicated it would need to be serviced. Since it was only 1hr old I took it back to Bestbuy and exchanged it. The new one works great with no issues so far.
